Tokyo Subway System

The Tokyo Subway System is clean, modern and inexpensive.  It is comprised of 14 different lines, including one circle line.

The cost of a journey depends on the distance travelled. A sophisticated self-serve ticketing system allows visitors to select a destination station on an English language map and then pay with cash.  A short single trip in the central Tokyo area costs around (¥130).

Multi-day tickets can also be purchased for 1 day (¥800), 2 days (¥1,200) or 3 days (¥1,500).
